Mehdi
Founder, surf coach & host
Mehdi, the co-founder and owner of The Horizon, is an experienced and passionate surfer/bodyboarder at heart.
Born and raised in Casablanca, he started surfing at a young age on the beaches of his hometown. As he grew up, he traveled across Morocco chasing waves, which ultimately led him to the beautiful Taghazout Bay.

Mehdi has dedicated many years to perfecting his skills and knowledge of the sport while working in the surf industry. He's always eager to introduce people to the thrill of surfing and share the stoke that comes with it.
​
When he's not in the water teaching surf lessons, he's hard at work handling all the behind-the-scenes tasks that make sure the guest house runs smoothly and delivers the best experience possible.
​
After all, creating something of his own in Tamraght has always been Mehdi’s lifelong dream, and he channels all his passion into making The Horizon a true home away from home for all the guests.
Marie
Founder, back office & host
Marie, the co-founder and owner of The Horizon, grew up in a small town in Belgium. When people would ask her about her future plans she said: "I don't know, maybe open a guest house one day?"

Marie is an energetic and sociable person who loves bringing people together. ​Always ready to greet guests with a warm smile, she also takes care of the behind-the-scenes tasks, including handling bookings, managing the website, and running social media.
​
Her surfing adventure began in Portugal in 2017, where she had her first lesson ever. Her passion for surfing grew a lot during her gap year in Australia. From that point on, her travels focused primarily on discovering great surf spots and getting better at surfing.
​
Eventually her travels led her to Morocco. Tamraght soon became her second home, and she quickly fell in love with the vibrant community, the amazing surf, stunning coastlines, and the laid-back lifestyle.
She now blends her love for surfing and community to create a welcoming space at The Horizon, offering guests the same warmth and adventure that shaped her journey.

The Horizon wouldn't be the cozy and vibrant home away from home without our team. We are very grateful to have an amazing Moroccan team supporting us, making sure our guests have the best experience possible! We want to support the local community in any way we can and are happy to have such hardworking and reliable team members.
Walid is originally from Casablanca and has been working with Mehdi for a very long time.

As an experienced surfer/bodyboarder he decided to become surf coach in 20... (year). He's been introducing people to the sport and helping surfers improve ever since!

His enthusiasm motivates like no other, and his passion for surfing shines through in every lesson, making him an exceptional coach and a beloved member of our team!

Our guests love Khadija's food and with good reason. With a lifelong passion for cooking, Khadija pours love, creativity, and care into every single dish she prepares.

Her dishes have a way of making you feel like you're enjoying a home-cooked meal, no matter where you're from. We’re lucky to have Khadija as part of The Horizon team, and we know our guests are, too!
Hafida never shows up without a smile on her face. With her dedication and attention to detail, she ensures that our space is always spotless and tidy.

Christina Adams is a talented photographer from New Jersey, USA, with a deep passion for travel and connecting with people from all walks of life.
Her photography has become a craft, capturing the essence of the places she visits through her lens. Specializing in surf photography—both in and out of the water—lifestyle, and portrait photography,
Christina brings a unique perspective to every shot.
In addition to her photographic work, she creates digital collage art inspired by nature, retro scenes, and the female form.
Driven by her love of exploration and a desire to connect with diverse cultures, Christina’s passion for capturing beauty has brought her right here, to Tamraght.
