Terms & Conditions

Welcome to The Horizon's Terms and Conditions page. By booking with us or using our website, you agree to the following terms. We encourage you to take a moment to review these guidelines, as they outline the rules for your stay and the services we offer at The Horizon. Should you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to making your experience with us memorable!

Payments

Payments of 30% deposit are due within 48-hours after the booking is made, otherwise, the booking may not be accepted or may be canceled without further notice.

The outstanding amount should be paid 3 weeks before arrival at the latest.

The bank details to which you can transfer the payment will be sent to you by email, along with a booking confirmation. When making electronic deposits, please remember to mention your full name and date of the booking.

Other costs such as buying our Merch can be paid by cash or direct transfer at the end of your stay.

Important notice regarding payments: The full amount should reach us 2 weeks before arrival at the latest, to avoid cancellations. Please contact us after you made any payments to verify if we received your payment. Non-payment of the 30% deposit by the due date, entitles us to cancel the booking and may not guarantee the availability at the guesthouse.

Surf guiding

You accept that The Horizon is simply guiding guests to surf beaches and providing general guidance for all levels of surfers. This guidance is for informational purposes only and should not be considered expert advice or safety instructions. The Horizon is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or fatalities that may occur while surfing, whether during classes or guided sessions. By participating, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of surfing and agree to take personal responsibility for your safety.

Passport

Please ensure that you still have at least 6 months validity on your passports after the date you expect to arrive back from your travels in Morocco. Please ensure that you hold all necessary visas for all countries of travel and transit.

Travel Insurance

All travelers are required to arrange their own travel insurance prior to their trip to Morocco. The Horizon is not responsible for any costs or consequences arising from travel delays, cancellations, medical expenses, injuries, or loss or damage of personal belongings. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking, and ensuring that it covers all planned activities, including surfing.

4. No refunds will be given for early checkouts or no-shows.

Conditions

The Horizon aims to offer its services with the utmost care and attention. However, certain circumstances may fall outside of our control. To clarify the extent of our responsibilities, please read the following conditions carefully.

1. Force Majeure and Events Beyond Control

The Horizon shall not be held liable for any delay, change, or failure in the performance of its services due to events beyond its reasonable control (“force majeure”), including but not limited to war, civil unrest, terrorism, acts of government or public authorities, natural disasters (such as earthquake, tsunami, storm, fire, or flood), strikes, or failure of transport providers.

In such cases, The Horizon will make reasonable efforts to adjust the itinerary or offer suitable alternatives. Refunds or compensation will only be considered where such events occur at or near the retreat location and directly prevent the safe or lawful delivery of the core retreat services, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

General concerns about global or regional safety not affecting the retreat location or its accessibility do not constitute grounds for free cancellation or refund.

2. Special Requests and Limitations

While The Horizon and its service providers aim to accommodate special requests (e.g. dietary needs, accessibility, medical conditions), we cannot guarantee that all such requests will be met. The inability to meet such requests does not constitute grounds for cancellation or compensation unless required by applicable law.

 3. Third Party Services

The Horizon works with independent service providers (e.g. airlines, transfer companies, accommodation providers). We are not responsible for any act, omission, delay, cancellation, or failure in service by these third parties. However, we will provide reasonable assistance to help resolve issues where possible.

4. Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, instructions, and safety guidelines during the retreat. The Horizon shall not be liable for any harm or loss resulting from personal negligence, reckless behavior, or failure to follow safety protocols.

Clients must also ensure that their physical condition and skill level are suitable for the activities offered. Participation is at your own risk. It is your responsibility to assess your own capabilities; The Horizon and its partners are not responsible for evaluating individual fitness or risk tolerance.

5. Activity Conditions and Natural Factors

The Horizon cannot guarantee specific weather, surf conditions, ocean visibility, or any other environmental elements. No compensation is owed for unsatisfactory surf, dangerous conditions, or altered natural phenomena. Participation in leisure or sporting activities is voluntary and at your own risk.

6. Service Modifications

The Horizon and its service providers reserve the right to cancel, modify, or restrict any service, activity, or itinerary where necessary for safety, operational, or weather-related reasons. Such changes do not automatically entitle clients to compensation, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

7. Booking Accuracy

Clients are responsible for reviewing all booking details and confirming their accuracy. Errors or discrepancies must be reported to The Horizon within a reasonable timeframe. Changes requested after this period may be treated as amendments and subject to additional costs.

8. Information Accuracy

While we strive to ensure the accuracy of all information provided, The Horizon is not liable for any inaccuracy or omission in statements made by employees, agents, or third-party service providers. This does not affect your statutory rights under Belgian or European consumer law.

**Note:** Nothing in these Conditions shall limit or exclude any rights you may have under the applicable laws governing package travel and consumer protection, including your right to refunds in the event of cancellation due to extraordinary circumstances at the place of destination.
